Welcome to Royal Skies!
What are we about?
Royal Skies was made after the closing of a previous server that both Kinsmate and Catbird worked with. It had been a longstanding goal to open a server. Years of Impressive Title experience as been added into Royal Skies, with the goal of making it a paradise for old fashioned OITer's, but also while combining new ideas and themes. The theme of all things celestial came from a long-story origin, which started with the character, Beau, having a sun placed on her body. Silence soon joined in with a sun, and while thinking of ideas to base a server off of, the sun and moon came back into play, and the theme became all thing celestial.
Along with this new theme, Royal Skies was founded to be a server with a strong community base, where everyone could at least stand to be near everyone else. Not only is Royal Skies to be based on community, but also leaning back to the old Role Plays OIT had. We're old fashioned, and part of being old fashioned is moving back towards the ways of OIT, the strong, artistic, connected community.
History of Impressive Title
[4:03:38 PM] Sarah "¢αтbιя∂": In August of 2008, Kovu LKD created Impressive title, a Lion King style MMORPG (massively multiplayer online roleplaying game) for TLKFAA (The Lion King Fan Art Archive). It was originally a single-player birthday gift for Aquanite, but was later released to the public. Updates came steadily until 2010, when hackers invated IT and eventually caused such server unstability that they were shut down, and the project abandoned in favor of FeralHeart, the successor to Impressive Title. FeralHeart was released in January of 2011, and was the only option for those who stuck around the IT community to meet up and play together, until Kov released the original IT source code to the public. From there, anyone who could understand the code could potentially make and host a server. From there, KITO (Keeping I.T. Open) was born, run by Redeye and Slycan and contributed to by many well-known members of the commiunity who wanted to make items and prey for new server-hosts to use. Redeye has continually upgraded and fixed the code so that it is easier to put together and run properly, and the code is more stable than it was before. With this, many choose to make their own servers, but few actually succeed, for many reasons.
What's all this junk about community?
Community is one of our major goals here. Let's face it, it's a lonely world with 7 billion people. It would be nice to have a place, even online to come relax, share ideas, kick back and role play, and enjoy watching your friends be derps. Nothing especially complicated, but it's something all members will need to help us work towards.
What's changed for the staff?
No more forum vs. game staff. If someone is on the staff team, they're staff in both places. The only exception being forum admints =/= in-game admints. There can be a forum admint who is only a modster in-game.
What changes are there in the media?
Well, the new GUI obviously.
Kinsmate and Catbird have been working together to create new prey, items, layouts, and maps for the server. The amount of material added to the game is huge, though some of it might not be noticeable right away when you enter. What exactly everything is will have to wait until you're in-game.
We love you!
Well...perhaps more specifically we love your ideas, input, and creations! We're a server trying to base ourselves on what people want to see and make, and we try to listen as best we can (we don't accept all ideas, though) and use members media (if you're someone who posts any kind of in-game media, we might request to use it in-game). This isn't the staff's server, it's yours, we just built it. So let us know what would make you happy!
